In November 1958, a Special Design Office was established at Minsk Computing Machines Plant named after G.K. Ordzhonikidze (now, MPOVT JSC), which was reorganised into Computer Research Institute NIIEVM JSC in 1972.
Nowadays NIIEVM JSC is one of the oldest enterprises of the Republic of Belarus involved in the development and manufacture of computer equipment.
Since 2011 NIIEVM JSC has been a part of Geoinformation Control Systems Holding subordinated to the Belarusian State Military Industrial Committee.
The main activities of the enterprise as a part of the holding are as follows:
development and production of new types of special and dual-use computer equipment with integrated additional options, special purpose components and nodes
applied research of new information security facilities and application of the obtained results into the production of computer equipment
modernisation and repair of weapon systems and military and special equipment
development and production of industrial automation equipment and modern fare systems
Thus, alongside with conducting R&D on the creation of general purpose industrial computers, in recent years specialists of the institute have been developing means of special purpose computer equipment including PCs intended for functioning in severe climatic conditions.
The institute holds a license for managing activities on technical information protection and it conducts researches aimed at the development of means and methods of information protection from unauthorised access to information and computing resources, data protection from leakage due to side electromagnetic radiation and pickup.
In cooperation with enterprises of the State Military Industrial Committee of the Republic of Belarus, as well as with partner enterprises of the Russian Federation, NIIEVM JSC achieved results in the following activity areas:
modernisation of air defence radio-technical facilities, air defence missile systems, mobile systems of electromagnetic warfare, reconnaissance control and radio jamming systems, specialised highly productive onboard computers (VM 3307, VM 2417.М1) allowing for input-output of analogue and digital information, as well as all–new products for replacing outdated travelling wave tubes – low-noise high frequency transistor amplifiers (series MVTU) – have been developed
serial production and delivery to the interested consumers of computer equipment protected from external impacts, leakage of information due to side electromagnetic radiation and pickup and unauthorised access protection for high-speed information processing: VM2015; VM2015.М1; VM2015.М2(М3); VM2307.М1; VM2411.М1; VM2431; VM 2306.М have been organised
design and development of specialised radioelectronic interface devices (in the formats mini PCI, compact PCI, PC104, PCI Express, etc.) for modern computing means with radar equipment and digital processor in the format VITA-46-NSA VMK 600 module have been accomplished
development and production of control packages for operation on the basis of wheeled and caterpillar vehicles for tactical control have been performed.
Computer Research Institute NIIEVM has a quality management system that is certified for compliance with the requirements of ISO 9001–2011.
The production and marketing policy of the enterprise is based on the cycle “research – development – production – sale – warranty service – post – warranty support”, which features a range of system advantages:

To that end, NIIEVM JSC performs a full range of works regarding the product life cycle as follows:
conducts R&D manufacturing prototype products, carrying out acceptance tests and assigning character O1
carries out preproduction of experimental batch of products, conducting qualification tests and assigning character A
manufactures products in a volume specified by orders
performs warranty and post-warranty maintenance of the products delivered to customers in accordance with their requirements.
